Fire suppression installed for building control approval for a loft conversion and extensive renovation project.
Property Type: Loft converted property with ground floor extension.
Property Location: Melbourne, Derbyshire.
Purpose
This property located in Melbourne, Derbyshire was being extensively renovated, extended and having a loft conversion. Building regulations required the installation of a fire suppression system throughout the property to compensate for the amount of glazing being added to the boundary side of the building and an open plan ground floor.
Approach
After a thorough site survey, Firemist produced a design for the installation of two Automist pumps and seven spray heads to provide water mist coverage throughout the whole house.
The first fix installation of Automist® high-pressure hoses, control cables and spray head back boxes were installed during the building works. Once plastered and painted, Firemist returned to the site to second fix the installation. Firemist installed the electrical supply in 2.5mm² Fp200 fire-resistant cable and carried out all final connections.
Full commissioning of the Automist system was carried out to verify system performance and correct operation.
