Increased fire protection of Private Landlord Property

Purpose
Firemist were approached by a private landlord who was concerned about the access limitations to one of his rental properties in an emergency. Located at the end of a shared driveway, vehicles often parked on one side, severely limiting the access of emergency service vehicles.
Approach
It was swiftly identified that Automist® would be suitable for the property, due to its ability to be retrofitted. The landlord submitted layout plans to Firemist and it was determined that two Automist® spray heads would protect the escape route that the Landlord required.
With Plumis Automist®, active fire protection can be provided without fire sprinklers. It is electronically triggered, helping to improve detection and activation times. When initiated, the infrared sensors scan the room to locate a fire, before directly targeting a dense fog of water mist towards the heat source.
Automist Smartscan Hydra® is the latest Smartscan® water mist device manufactured by Plumis®.
This system can have up to six wall-mounted Smartscan Hydra® spray heads connected to a single compact pump, enabling full fire suppression coverage of a property without a water storage tank or main water supply upgrade.
Automist® can be installed to existing properties with minimal disruption and uses only 5.6 litres of water per minute (10 times less than a traditional fire sprinkler system).
Outcome
Firemist provided a complete package installation including all electrical and plumbing requirements. A turn-key solution was highly favoured since the Landlord did not have to organise, negotiate, or procure any other trades.
The installation took just a day to complete. As a result of reviewing his property portfolio, the landlord has commissioned Firemist to install Automist® in three additional properties.
The Landlord, Peter, was pleased with how the system was retrofitted with the least amount of damage to the property and inconvenience to the tenants.
