Automist Fire Suppression, Staffordshire.

Automist Fire Suppression, Staffordshire.

This listed building is a former gatehouse for Patsull Hall, one of the largest listed buildings in Staffordshire, built in the 1700s.

Permission was granted for a single storey extension to the property. Building control required additional fire protection measures to be installed in the room that formed part of the escape route (inner room scenario).

Following approval of our system design, Firemist were instructed to supply and install the Automist system hoses and cables, including the fire-resistant mains power supply cable. The water supply was installed by the project plumbing contractor.

The Automist® fire suppression system installed to this property consisted of 3 wall mounted intelligent spray heads connected to 1 Automist pump and controller.

Ceiling mounted electronic smoke and heat detectors ensure early activation of the system, resulting in the Automist® spray heads performing a room scan to verify the presence of fire. The Automist® intelligent algorithm identifies the presence of a fire and dispenses high pressure water mist, cooling and starving the fire of oxygen. The Automist® two stage activation ensures early detection of fire without the risk of false activation.

Due to the low water requirements of Automist Smartscan Hydra®, the system can be installed to new and existing properties without the need to upgrade the mains water supply to the property.
