What is a Fire Mist System?

A water mist fire suppression system uses very fine water sprays (i.e. water mist) to control, suppress, or extinguish a fire. Small water droplets allow the water mist to:

• Cool the flame and gases through evaporation;
• Displace oxygen through evaporation;
• Reduce radiant heat through the small droplets.

Fire suppression effectiveness is determined by the spray characteristics of a water mist system, such as the distribution of droplets, the mist density and the spray dynamics.

• Very early activation;
