It is quarter sawn and has beautiful figuring with great depth and shimmer. The master grade Adirondack Spruce top is also one of the best we've seen or heard in a long time and has nice tight grain. The sound of this guitar is over the top good with balance, volume, richness, and detail and it is great for flatpicking
